Our kitchen is located on the corner of 6th St. and Gladys St. Volunteers should park on Gladys St or ask for directions to the nearest parking. For those unfamiliar with downtown, many of the streets (5th and 6th specifically) are one way streets. As far as we know Yahoo Maps has accurate driving directions.

From the 5 Freeway:

  • Exit 4th Street
  • Head West towards downtown
  • Pass Alameda (4th street becomes 3rd after you pass Alameda)
  • Make a left on Central Ave
  • Make a right turn on 5th St.
  • Make an immediate left on to Gladys St.
 From the 10 Freeway:

  • Exit Central Ave
  • Head North towards downtown
  • Make a left on 5th St.
  • Make an immediate left on to Gladys St.

Our house is in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of East LA, located near where the 10, 5, 101, 60, and 110 freeways meet, The house has a tall hedge in front and no address numbers are visible from the street which can make spotting it a bit confusing. We are at the top of a hill on Brittania St. and the only house that has a small parking lot. When you get on Brittania you are looking for a purple and teal wall with a driveway to the left. As far as we know Yahoo Maps has accurate driving directions.

If you are going South on the 5 Freeway:

  • Merge on to the 10 East
  • Take the Cesar Chavez Exit (note this puts you on State St.)
  • Turn Left on State St.
  • Make a right on Baily which is the first right
  • Make a right turn on Brittania St.

If you are going North on the 5 Freeway:

  • Take the Cesar Chavez Exit
  • Make a right on Cesar Chavez
  • Make an immediate left on Brittania St.

If you are going East on the 10 Freeway:

  • Take the Cesar Chavez Exit
  • Make a right on Cesar Chavez
  • Make an immediate left on Brittania St.

If you are going West on the 10 Freeway:

  • When you get close to the 101 intersection get over to the second lane from the right in order to stay on the 10
  • Exit State St. The right two lanes will branch off, and the State St. exit will be a left lane exit
  • Turn left on State St.
  • Turn Left on Baily
  • Turn right on Brittania St.
