LACW Kaleb Havens spent 46 days--from Ash Wednesday, February 14, to Easter Sunday, April 1, on a hunger and housing strike chained to the fence of a vacant building on Skid Row to bring public attention to the homeless and housing crises affecting the 60,000 people homeless in Los Angeles County, specifically the more than 4000 living on the streets of Skid Row, a 50 square block area just east of downtown.

On Easter Sunday morning, Kaleb ended his fast and unchained himself, followed by a prayer service and huge celebration. These photos are from the Easter event.
