PLEASE SIGN LETTER TO POPE FRANCIS SEEKING HELP FOR JULIAN ASSANGE WHO IS IN IMMINENT DANGER

The below letter to Pope Francis was started by Ciaron O’Reilly, of the London Catholic Worker, who for years, has been a strong supporter of Julian Assange. Recent news indicates that Julian Assange’s transfer to U.K. authorities may be imminent. If this transpires, he will undoubtedly be extradited to the U.S. to face a life sentence for releasing Iraq war documents leaked by then Private Bradley Manning. If you would like to be a signatory to this plea for help, contact Ciaron at, ciaronx@yahoo.com or Mobile at 0772 412 0596 or outside (y) UK + 44 772 412 0596

Your Holiness,

In your first Papal visit outside of Rome only months after your election as Supreme Pontiff, you choose the Italian island of Lampedusa, a refuge for migrants and asylum seekers fleeing the prospect of death. You did so to express your closeness and love to suffering people, to promote their dignity, which was under threat at home and in jeopardy in the countries where they seek refuge. Your first act upon arrival was to lay a wreath in the sea in memory of all those who had lost their lives seeking refuge.

We, the undersigned, write to you, Your Holiness, as a loving Father to those who lives are in imminent danger, begging and beseeching you to speak up for someone whose life is in imminent danger. A life that can only be saved by your intervention. In order to lessen the possibility of us laying a wreath in the coming days, in memory of the stateless asylum seeker Julian Assange, we ask that you speak out on his behalf.

Julian is possible moments or hours away but certainly days away from being abducted by a SAS squad from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where his asylum status is about to be revoked. Based on the precedent the risk of death is very high. Last time the SAS entered an Embassy in London they assassinated their targets after they had surrendered and were unarmed lying on the ground.

With all legal avenues exhausted and the British, American, Ecuadorian and Australian governments all arranging the imminent raid on Julian, we cry out to you, Holy Father and ask that you encourage nations to respect the life of Julian Assange and to cease his arbitrary detention (as cited by the United Nations) and grant him asylum status where he can continue his work as a journalist, telling the truth, that is the truth that respects the dignity of persons. Please, Holy Father speak up and defend this life which so many powerful nations want to end and whose life only you can plead for leniency in a manner which may be heeded by the powerful who seek to end him.

Yours in desperate hope,

I very much support humanitarian intervention on Julian Assange’s behalf. Anything that can be done to protect him and to allow him to continue his to-be-chosen role in his career would be appreciated.

I, the Lord, command you to do what is just and right. Protect the person who is being cheated from the one who is cheating him. Do not ill-treat or oppress foreigners, orphans, or widows; and do not kill innocent people in this holy place.
    Jeremiah 22:3

Learn to do right. See that justice is done — help those who are oppressed, give orphans their rights, and defend widows.

Se lo debemos, todos estamos en deuda con Julian Assange. No le queremos como un mártir. Estoy segura que usted es capaz de sacar a Julian de la embajada y llevarlo con su familia que le necesita.
Gracias por su labor, se que no es fácil.

If you are really protector and advocate for peace and truth, you will protect this brave and honourable man from the rich corrupt people who will violate the law and have broken international law again and again . They want to continue in darkness doing unjust things… Starting wars with lies for profit….Overthrowing governments to steal their resources .. Continuing to destroy the environment for profit…Killing innocents to appease their brutal allies and sell their bombs. . It is the corrupt politicians that belong in jail not Julian Assange.

Jesus would not approve of this persecution ..he would be at the side of Julian fighting injustice… fighting for peace and love.

In the time of Christ the truth of His message was an enemy to those in power. Yet those simple truths of His Gospel were critical to the salvation of our world. In the 21st century truth is still an enemy to power. Although Julian is not Christ his fate is tied to all our fate. Please have mercy on him, Your Holiness, and provide him any help you can give him. Thank you and God Bless you.

Julian Assange has been denied the most basic principle of his human rights within the Bristish judicial system and that is innocent until proven guilty. Yet he has no outstanding charges against him and has not been charged with any crime. In effect he is being kept captive until such time the U.S seek to cook up some charges against him. No one should be treated like that and no state should be allowed to behave like that to any citizen. Would you speak out for him please, your holiness?

Julian highlights the excesses of this world, and thus illuminates our reasoning against lies, manipulations and corruptions perpetrated by those we believe almighty. We would not be able to detect alone these excesses of power which are the cangrene of this world. It gives us the opportunity to make our own idea of the real world in which we live and to denounce without risk what seems unfair to us. Julian Assange, by his integrity, his courage, his honesty, is one of the few people to persevere, we can say without exaggerating, to sacrifice his freedom in the name of benevolence for us all, people of all nations . We can not remain indifferent to that. It would be condemning our own freedoms.
Julian Assange is neither a God nor a guru, he is simply each of us, in the pure respect of Humans Right.

  2. JULIAN ASSANGE is what US law refers to as a whisle blower who exposes corruption. He should be protected yet the US is desperate to prosecute him in conflict with US law. Specifically JULIAN ASSANGE exposed the US crime of illegally gathering private information of the US citizens. He should be protected by the US Federal Beaurough of Investigation. In contrast the US governments wants to prosecute him in their disregard of the US law. Given the criminal actions of the US government, JULIAN ASSANGE must be protected by somebody. Thank you. Yet another disgrace from Latin America should not be allowed to pass without comment. As people are denied the right to apply for asylum in the United States, one who has been granted asylum is to be turned over on condition that he not be killed, it apparently no longer being important whether he will be subject to life imprisonment or cruel and degrading treatment.

    Yours in desperate hope,
    Aleksandra Mitrović

I am not Roman Catholic, but an unprogrammed Quaker in Canada, yet the freedom of Julian Assange is a human rights issue that transcends denominational religious practise. We all have an interest in seeing him free and provided compensation for the huge injustice that has been forced upon him.

In fact, like Jesus, he puts aside his fears of persecution to help those who are being persecuted, lied to, maimed and murdered by people who are responsible for protecting them. Please pray for Julian – and for all of us – to our Father in Heaven : to bring wisdom to the powerful people in governments who wish to hurt Julian Assange; to remind them of their humanity; and to help them find forgiveness, not revenge, for him. Thank you. God bless you and keep you.

If Julian Assange is harmed, what do you think happens to the concept of speaking truth, conscientious objection and preservation of innocence (in places like Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan and anywhere else we want to commit the act of homicide)? HUH?

“Julian is possible moments or hours away but certainly days away from being abducted by a SAS squad from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where his asylum status is about to be revoked. Based on the precedent the risk of death is very high. Last time the SAS entered an Embassy in London they assassinated their targets after they had surrendered and were unarmed lying on the ground.”

  8. Julian Assange is being tortured and his life is in imminent danger. He needs amnesty and medial help NOW. Today. Right away, right now. He is by far the most important truth exposer of this century and all of humanity was able to see with their own eyes for the first time what was going on inside the global elite’s apparatus of exploitation, domination, sadism, and even pedophilia. The world is changing and awakening thanks to this sacrifice HE made. In addition, he is not guilty of any sexual crimes, as even the state of Sweden, his original accuser, has fully conceded. Please intervene on his behalf. The Catholic Church must lead the reformation to crush institutional pedophilia which Assange exposed. It must lead the way for obvious reasons.

The fate of humanity may rest upon this man’s life because if we let him die, we live in darkness, because we CHOSE it.

I surge upon You as the leader of the Vatican to please do what it takes to inform
officials within the British government to think about to really let him go
and be a free man. He’s been yet isolated only within the Ecuadorian embassy for
6 years. He has not committed any crime only being accused of sharing intern infos of
governments and officials that weren’t meant to be shared at any cost. People sent him
very sensitive internal documents whilst knowing what a great effort it took to whistle
blow it out towards the public.

We do need such strong persons to maintain our common sense, based on a trustworthy
cooperation instead of secretly done agreements which are against the people.

I plea You Bishop of Rome, by the name giving of Francis to stand up against the unofficial
officials who want Julian Assange to be arrested.

We the people shall get to the Promised Land, the people not the currency nor cashflow,
it’s the people who really take care not the stock exchange nor the industrial military complex.

I wish You all the best and great vitality to go on with Your personal approach, You’ve approached
so many of us even outside of the Catholic Church.

In honour of Your very power, You can convince governments with Your humble approach.

Silencing those who speak the truth, in the face of empire, is akin to driving a spike into Jesus & aiding the Romans at the crucifixion. When you stand idly by & do nothing to uphold the speakers of truth, you betray the very foundation upon which the church, and the laws that spring from it are founded.
Jesus rebelled against the hierarchy in bed with the Roman empire, to show all mankind the way to salvation both real & spiritual is to do good for one another, even as you struggle with your own burden under thier lash. He didnt tell the citizens of Judea to revolt; He told them to aid & comfort one another to set an example for all to follow. Those who do find peace here, & herafter. Working together we grow strong, until our indolent leadership fails of it’s own depravities. Work with us now.
Take up His cross, & bear it to England, where the message of peace is sorely needed in these darkening times.
Speak for the imprisoned, the oppressed, the fellow traveller whose only crime was to show us the truth of our governments atrocities. He cried out for Justice. Will you deny that voice in the wilderness? Or will you add yours to the chorus of Angels standing ready to receive it?
Do not fail to add your voice. For silence will be your lot thereafter.
Is it not written that as you treat your least child, so shall God do likewise with you?
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall dwell in Eden.

They should rightly be open with all they do. Secrecy can provide fertile ground for abuse of power in such instances. We regard Julian’s plight as our own and we will not stop fighting for our rights to freedom of speech and for Julian’s right to basic human dignity. The UN rulings must be respected. His case is currently ruled a case of human rights abuse and it has only gotten worse. Countries are conspiring to keep him silenced and to keep him from continuing the hugely important work he does helping and protecting whistleblowers , those being abused and those who notice abuses of power. I beg you please to end this illegal detention of Julian Assange. He should be given protection as a human being seeking asylum, caused by the threat to his life and to justice. It is shameful that a person is forced to endure such appalling conditions, in return for the opening our eyes to terrible acts being carried out in this world. Julian should be freed and protected by us, including the UK or his home country. Why has the media nearly abandoned him? They should be doing the opposite and defending their rights to publish the truth, while not suffering threats to their safety. I beg the Pope or the UK Government will intervene to end this shameful situation. We claim to be a democracy. How could this be allowed to happen and in the centre of London?

There are many people in the world suffering, perhaps worse treatment. Julian was shedding light on their situations and giving them and the world hope. Please speak up for Assange.

Why would the British government deploy the SAS? Is Assange holding the Ecuadorean embassy staff hostage? I thought he was claiming sanctuary. The Ecuadorean president will turn Assange over to the British police, the idea of the SAS having to be involved is delusional fantasy and says much about the writer of the letter.

Certainly get the pope to accompany Assange out of the Embassy, but do it as an act of mercy given that Assange thought that it would be good for the citizens of the US to have a president of the calibre of Trump.

Assange was imperious in this decision, he could of been restrained and realised that the forces he was about to unleash, were only the beginning of reaction and bigotry.. Trump has recast US politics and as such he is the starting point not the end point of unpredictability. Assange has a massive role in this.

Open your eyes and cease the sycophancy.

The government’s and courts around the world expect “THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH & NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, SO HELP ME GOD”. It appears that the truth is only for people to persecute themself under oath, whilst governments, higher ups and secret service agencies lie through their teeth on a daily basis, even under oath. Honesty and truth is what we teach our children. So why is Julian Assange treated this way for telling the truth and being honest?? He exposed corruption and evil doings. SO WE SHOULD ALL EXPECT ALL RELIGIOUS ORGANISATIONS THAT PREACH THE 10 COMMANDMENT AND GODS WAYS TO FULLY SUPPORT THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE AND COMPENSATION FOR JULIAN ASSANG NOW!!!!!.. The treatment he has endured is nothing kess than evil doing from lying and corrupt governments upset at their evil doings have been exposed. FREE JULIAN NOW!!!!..Otherwise religious followers will lose all faith in religious groups and righteously so. That is what you are their for, to support everyday people who are honest, tell the truth and suffer for their honesty.
