NOTE: I received the following e-mail, which I believe is significant enough to post here.

Greetings Friends of Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action,

It seems that people on the street are actually paying attention to the nuclear weapons topic, at least in some context regarding North Korea. The problem is that far too many people (quite possibly including Kim Jong-Un’s archenemy in The White House) do not realize that there is NO military solution to the long-running stand-off with North Korea. Any use of military force against the North would likely result in an unimaginable disaster affecting at very least the entire Korean Peninsula and Japan. More than one expert has referred to the current situation as the most tenuous international conflict since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Diplomacy is the only answer.

According to Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy, Tomorrow Wed. April 26 the entire Senate will be briefed at the White House on the North Korean situation by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and others. Instead of a secret White House briefing, the Senate should summon Mattis and Tillerson to speak to them in the Senate chambers, after which the Senate should engage in a formal, on-the-record, dialogue and debate on the situation. The stakes are too high to allow any secretive action. One false step could lead to the loss of millions of lives.

LCNP is asking people in the US to call our senators today and urge them to demand a peaceful resolution of the extremely dangerous US-North Korea confrontation. For talking points, see the LCNP statement (in the previous link).

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request. You may also click HERE to get direct contact information for your Senators.

Please make your calls today, and then pass this message on to everyone in your network. We must act quickly and en masse.

And when you’re done, you can read all about the recent Federal trial of the Trident Three.

Leonard, on behalf of everyone at Ground Zero Center
