We had a very unusual group of volunteers today. The photo at left is a bridal party, bride and bridesmaids, that decided to forego a bachelorette party in favor of volunteering at our soup kitchen to serve the Skid Row poor and homeless. If that is not amazing enough, three of the four, including the bride, live in other states. All are school friends from Jackson Hole, Wyoming that got together specifically to volunteer with us. They are (from left to right) Erin Stotts, now from Denver, Co; Mei Ratz (Bride), now from Portland, OR; Hannah Kanengieter (Maid of Honor), now from Los Angeles; and Laney Mentuastelli, now from Portland, OR. The wedding will be on October 5, in Jackson Hole, WY. As an added bonus, they donated the aprons they are wearing (the bride’s was hand made by her mom), in exchange we gave them their choice of our T-shirts. We at the LACW are grateful and honored that they chose the “Hippie Kitchen” to spend their pre-wedding celebration. They shared that it was a great experience and delighted they were able to be part of the serving day. Thank you. Many blessings, and many years of happiness, love, and joy in marriage, Mei.

Great example of Christian service!
We heard what the ladies did. Any word as to what the guys did? Just curious.
